The old adage “a good accountant is as important as a good doctor” is certainly true in this instance.
Graham Westland from Taxland has been our saviour for many years now – not only does he look after our personal tax commitments he also deals with accounting requirements for our busy carpet cleaning business on the Northern Beaches. It’s not often that you find an accountant who is both knowledgeable and personable but Graham is both.
He cares about our business and is always willing to explain in easily understandable terms anything that we may need clarification on. Graham goes well beyond the call of duty and has helped us to not only save money but also with business development and growth. We at Devine Carpet Care would recommend Graham @ Taxland with no hesitation. We will certainly not be going anywhere else. Mel & Rob Devine Carpet Cleaning
Vince was advised by his previous Accountant that tax payable for the year was $18,000 and it didn’t sit right with him, so his mate (our client) told him to let us take a look at the Tax Return in question. The result was a dramatic reduction in tax payable down to $7,000, simply by identifying and correcting oversights.
Ben had been blindsided with a $12,000 “tax” bill, from his previous year’s Tax Return plus catch-up PAYG Instalments, and he didn’t want to be caught in that situation again. One option to avoid a recurrence may have been to simply pay more PAYG than necessary; or alternatively, locate an Accountant who could offer more than merely writing-up a scorecard after the game has been played. Ben subsequently met with us and, having evaluated the value-adding service we could provide, he has been happily on-board ever since.
A client recommended that Tony should visit us to discuss his taxation matters. Tony did so and brought along a copy of his previous Tax Return to our initial meeting and, at first glance, errors and omissions were immediately identified. The result: Tony received a refund of $3,141.24 (including interest) from the ATO after an Amended Tax Return for the year in question was prepared and lodged; and our fees are less than his previous Accountant charged.
Paul met with us to review his previous Tax Return, saying that he wasn’t quite sure whether it had been correctly prepared. Paul was right! The result: An Amended Tax Return for the year in question was prepared and lodged resulting in a reduction in Paul’s Taxable Income of $51,464.00 and a refund including interest, of $15,098.54 from the ATO.
